On Tuesday, 27 February, Year 12 politics students visited London, starting at the Imperial War Museum, where they were able to look at displays relating to 21st Century conflict to tie in with next year’s work on global politics, as well as the excellent displays relating to the world wars and the current gallery on spying.
We then transferred over to our main venue, the Houses of Parliament, where students received a a tour of the Palace of Westminster, including a visit to the Houses of Commons public gallery. We finished with a session on laws and debating from the Parliament Education department, including a vigorous debate chaired by our own speaker. Bournemouth East MP Tobias Ellwood joined us for the last few minutes and has promised to come into school for a longer question and answer session.
