We are pleased to announce that the students taking part in the Poetry by Heart national poetry speaking competition have submitted their performances for judging. We now have to wait, with bated breath, for the results in May.
The students that took part – Josh, Petya, Fabrice and Krishang – have put in a considerable amount of hard work since joining the Poetry by Heart club and have shown enormous amounts of talent, confidence and flair when it comes to their performances. Josh, Petya and Fabrice undertook the challenge of crafting a freestyle performance of The Hag by Robert Herrick, which was heavily inspired by the three witches of Macbeth. Krishang entered the classic two-poem competition, and choose to recite the sonnet Ozymandias by Percy Bysshe Shelley, and Remains by Simon Armitage.
