Undoubtedly a highlight of the Spring term, the annual CCF Inspection Day ran on Friday, 28 March. This event allows cadets who have trained hard throughout the year to showcase their skills and professionalism through a full day of various activities. This year, the contingent welcomed Lt Col Mans from the Parachute Regiment to conduct the inspection.
The day began with a ceremonial inspection parade with cadets being led by UO Thomas, RSM Wood and RQMS Shane; the march past was led by the CCF band commanded by DM Vasilko. This parade was followed by a contingent-wide competition where cadets demonstrated their abilities in various challenges including first aid, leadership, fitness, navigation, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
Cadets performed exceptionally well, with the contingent’s band once again initiating the final parade to round off an outstanding performance throughout the day. Lt Col Mans was highly impressed by the turnout and skill level of the cadets, giving special recognition to the contingent’s band and honour guard. Senior cadets for next year were also announced with the roles of Under-Officer, Regimental Sergeant Major and Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant going to Joseph Lamparelli, Tyler Glover and Adam Loader respectively.
